Week #8: Movement

Week #8: Movement

Closeup: Professional dancer Samantha Christofferson, 24, practices a routine near a playground at Alton Baker Park in Eugene, OR on November 15. When asked if she knows she sticks her tongue out when performing, Christofferson replied: "Yes I do...it was embarrassing when I was a kid, but I only do it when I'm super concentrating remembering a new routine or trying to nail a sequence. I make sure it's not poking out during an actual recital."

Medium: Professional dancer Samantha Christofferson (after an outfit change), 24, and dance partner Skyler Rydes, 24 both of Eugene, OR practice a few steps of a routine they have working on since quarantine began at Alton Baker Park in Eugene, OR on November 17. The pair do a socially distant outdoor dance class that meet at different parks throughout Eugene. The duo were not teaching today but said they like to "practice a few steps" whenever they get the chance.
Samantha Christofferson, 24, a professional dancer, practices a strutting portion of her choreography. She says she started practicing in public parks years ago to get over the stage fright of doing solo dances on stage in front of crowds of people. Also the fresh air "calms the spirit and gets it to focus." She is sauntering through Alton Baker Park in Eugene, OR November 17.
